What are Sub IDs?
Sub IDs, short for Sub Identification Numbers, are unique identifiers you can add to your affiliate link. They give you a more granular view of performance metrics related to campaigns, traffic sources, or user interactions.
What you can separate with a Sub ID
A Sub ID attaches additional tracking information to your affiliate URL. That lets you tell apart:
- Traffic sources
- Campaigns
- Individual ads
Example: the same link on several blogs
Say you have multiple blogs where you placed your affiliate link for the same SaaS. Give each blog its own unique Sub ID.
When users click the link within a blog, the Sub ID travels with it. You can then see which specific blog generated the most conversions or engagement, and put your effort where it pays off.
