Manually uploading a referral (as an affiliate)
Ideally everyone you refer signs up through your affiliate link. That won't always happen: a client signs up during a call, a friend types the address in directly. Without your link the signup isn't credited to you, and a referral that isn't in the system earns no commission. You can fix that by importing the referral yourself.
This is useful for agencies, consultants and any affiliate who wants to add existing clients.
How to import a referral
- Open Referrals in the menu of your dashboard.
- Click Import referrals.
- Select the affiliate program you're importing the referral for, and enter the referral's email address.
- Submit it. Your import becomes a request that the SaaS company accepts or rejects.
What happens next
- Accepted: the referral counts like any other, and its payments within the program's commission period earn you commission.
- Rejected: no commission is created for it.
- Still pending: only the SaaS company can accept it, so contact the company and ask it to review your request.
Importing many referrals at once
Have a long list of clients? Ask the SaaS company to import them: imports by the SaaS company are approved automatically. For anything else, ask us in the support chat.
Avoid the import next time
Send clients and friends your link before they sign up, and ask them to sign up in the browser where they clicked it. Credit is cookie-based, so a click on one device and a signup on another may not be credited.
