Connecting your payment processor to track payments

Reditus creates a commission when a referred customer pays you, so it needs your payment data. Connecting it is the third installation step, after the tracking script and the signup snippet.

What the payment connection does

It shows when a referral becomes a paying customer.
It calculates commissions on what the customer actually pays, upgrades and extra seats within your commission period included.
No payment, no commission: a commission only exists once payment data for a referred customer arrives.
Refunds reject commission: a refund in Stripe, full or partial, rejects the full commission on that payment, and so does a refund you send to the Payments API refund endpoint.
Payments come in real time, so sales show up as they happen.

Which connection fits you

Stripe: connect it natively

Billing with Stripe? Connect your Stripe account to Reditus. Attribution needs the customer's email in Stripe checkout, so pass the email the customer signed up with. Coupon-code tracking works with Stripe only. Step by step: connecting Stripe.

The Stripe connection is read-only: Reditus sees your whole Stripe account, to track payments and refunds and to troubleshoot, and it can't change anything in it.

Some Stripe customers send their payments through the Payments API instead, so they don't have to connect their Stripe account.

Any other processor: the Payments API

On Paddle, Chargebee, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal or another processor? Send your payment data through the Payments API. Reditus matches payments to referrals on email or on your own unique IDs.

Forward all your payments, and Reditus only creates a commission when the referral exists. Or ask the API first which referrals exist, and send only their payments.
Every call needs an idempotency key, tied to one transaction, so a commission is never calculated twice.
With a merchant-of-record processor such as Paddle, always send a unique ID too: the checkout email can differ from the signup email.
The Payments API takes amounts in cents: send 99.00 as 9900.
Forwarding all payments typically takes about 4 hours to set up, depending on your processor.
