Connecting Stripe

Stripe connects natively to Reditus. Once it is connected, your Stripe payments reach Reditus in real time, and Reditus matches them to referrals to create your affiliates' commissions.

The connection is read-only. Reditus can see your whole Stripe account, so it can track payments and refunds and troubleshoot with you, but it can't change anything in it.

Not on Stripe, or would you rather not give Reditus that access? You can run exactly the same program through the Payments API, including on Paddle and Chargebee.

Step 1: Open the installation tab

Log in to Reditus and open the installation tab in your settings (the link works when you're logged in). Connecting your payment processor is step 3 of the installation.

Step 2: Connect Stripe

Click Connect Stripe. You are sent to Stripe, where you log in and approve the connection.

Step 3: Check the connection

Stripe sends you back to Reditus automatically. The connection is complete when a Disconnect Stripe button appears.

Pass the customer's email at checkout

Reditus matches Stripe payments to referrals on the customer's email. So your checkout has to pass the customer's email to Stripe (for example the customerEmail field when you open Stripe Checkout), and it has to be the same email Reditus received at signup. When a payment from a referred customer doesn't show up, an email mismatch between Reditus and Stripe is the usual reason.

Good to know

• Coupon codes: coupon-code tracking works with Stripe only. See tracking referrals with coupon codes.
• Refunds: a refund in Stripe, full or partial, automatically rejects the full commission on that payment. What you do after that is up to you.
• What earns commission: every payment within your commission period, upgrades and extra seats included. You can exclude certain products, such as onboarding or service fees, with metadata in Stripe: see excluding products from commissions.
• Migrating from another affiliate tool? Connect Stripe at the start of a month: that is the cutover, so no commission is paid twice. See migrating to Reditus.
