How to payout affiliates?

How payouts work

Payouts are the way for you and your affiliates to keep track of commission payments. They are created on a fixed monthly cycle, based on the rules below.

Creation date

Pending payouts are created on the 1st day of each month.

Commissions included

Pending payouts include commissions from the previous month, from the first to the last date of that month.

Payout threshold

Pending payouts that did not pass your predefined threshold are not mandatory to pay yet. Commissions accumulate month over month into pending payouts until they pass the threshold. Once the payout passes it, the payout is ready to pay by the end of next month.

Due date

Each payout has a payment deadline up until the last day of the month. If that limit is passed, the affected affiliates get notified and the payout moves into Overdue payouts.

Payouts marked as paid

Once a pending or overdue payout is marked as paid, the affiliate is notified and the payout moves into paid payouts. The actual payment happens between you and the affiliate directly.

Upcoming payouts

Commission from the current month stays visible in the upcoming commissions tab. Once the 1st day of the next month arrives, the upcoming commissions move into current payouts.

Process a payout to an affiliate

The payout feature answers three questions before you send any money:

  • Who to pay: identify the affiliates due for payment.
  • Amount to pay: view the total amount owed to each affiliate.
  • Reason for payment: understand why each payment is being made.

The payout process itself stays simple, because you pay the affiliates directly. Click on a row in the payout table to open a drawer with more information about that payout.

Pay an affiliate and mark the payment as paid

Clicking a payout opens a drawer showing all commissions included in that payout, so you can review each commission before processing the payment.

You can reject commissions by rejecting a referral, which rejects all commissions for that referral. Once everything is good:

  1. Pay out the affiliate via PayPal, or any other agreed method.
  2. Mark the payout as paid.

Add payout notes to an affiliate

Notes at the affiliate level are where you record that you pay someone in another way. Reditus does not move the money, so you simply mark things as paid once you have done the payment.
