How to change the tier of an affiliate

Once you have more than one tier, you can move an affiliate to another tier yourself. You'll mostly do this for private tiers: invite-only tiers for agencies, consultants or communities that get their own deal.

Move an affiliate to another tier

1. Go to Affiliates.
2. Click Active affiliates.
3. Click the row of the affiliate you want to move.
4. Select the new tier from the dropdown.

Don't see other tiers? Create them first on the Tiers tab of your affiliate program configuration: as many as you want, public or private, each with its own commission percentage and commission length. Tiers are on every plan; see how to set up multiple tiers.

Public tiers move affiliates up automatically

To reward growth you don't need to move anyone by hand. Public tiers promote affiliates automatically by their number of paid referrals (only paid referrals count, not revenue or time), and they are shown on your program's landing page. Each affiliate sees their own progress toward the next tier, and nobody else's: there is no public leaderboard.

Private tiers work the other way around. Affiliates only get into a private tier when you put them there, as described above.

What a private tier deal can include

A private tier is more than a higher percentage. It can combine a different commission and duration, a discount code the partner can give to their clients or community, a free account on your product, and closer contact with your team. Agree what the partner does in return, such as adding you to their website or bringing their first client within an agreed period.
